The Renaissance! (4/11/11)

Objective: We will describe the way classical learning and the arts created a new interest in humanism.

Task 1: Use your Parent Letter for Mini-Skills Assessment #12 to fill out the Mastery Reflection.

Task 2: Use the rubric (found in the tray) to make sure your culminating task is ready for grading. Have a teammate grade your culminating task using the rubric. After, write a reflection (found in the tray) indicating that the culminating task is an example of your best work or it represents a need for improvement. After you finish writing the reflection, staple them in this order: (A) Culminating Task (B) Rubric (C) Reflection. Then place your work in the appropriate bin.

Task 3: Paste the Unit Cover Page for The Renaissance onto page 262 in your interactive notebook. Use Chapter 28 in History Alive! to get some ideas about what to draw on your cover page. After you draw something related to the Renaissance and explain it, DO NOT fill out the rest of this sheet. We will come back to it at the end of our unit.

Task 4: View the presentation on an Introduction to the Renaissance. Fill out the graphic organizer.

Task 5: On page 263 of your notebook, draw a large flow map with 3 squares explaining the 3 slides in the presentation. Each square should have a related picture and caption.

Task 6: (Only for those who did NOT master a standard) -- Read the directions on how to make up a standard. Choose a product from the product list. Get Mr. Herrera's signature before creating your make-up product.
