Objective: We will understand the achievements of the Renaissance by using thinking maps and creating a culminating task.
Task 1: Read 30.3 Michelangelo. Draw a large circle map on page 267 of your notebook. In the inner circle write "Michelangelo's Achievements". In the outer circle write 4 descriptions of his achievements.
Task 2: Read 30.6 Copernicus. Draw a large circle map on page 268 of your notebook. In the inner circle write "Copernicus' Achievements". In the outer circle write 4 descriptions of his achievements.
Task 3: Read 30.7 Vesalius. Draw a large circle map on page 269 of your notebook. In the inner circle write "Vesalius' Achievements". In the outer circle write 4 descriptions of his achievements.
Task 4: Read 30.10 Shakespeare. Draw a large circle map on page 270 of your notebook. In the inner circle write "Shakespeare's Achievements". In the outer circle write 4 descriptions of his achievements.
Task 5: Read 30.11 Cervantes. Draw a large circle map on page 271 of your notebook. In the inner circle write "Cervantes' Achievements". In the outer circle write 4 descriptions of his achievements.
Task 6: Read 30.12 Da Vinci. Draw a large circle map on page 272 of your notebook. In the inner circle write "Da Vinci's Achievements". In the outer circle write 4 descriptions of his achievements.
Task 7: Create a poster titled Renaissance Achievements. On the front, draw 3 achievements (your choice) with 3 captions explaining what they are and who they belong to. On the back, write 3 TREE paragraphs explaining each achievement. (Topic, Reason, Explanation, Ending). Bring the poster to class on Monday, April 25, 2011.
